Treatment of sick children

Joy sets up our mobile clinic
Joy sets up a clinic under a mango tree at one of our schools

Helping Hands treats thousands of school children every year. We operate a mobile clinic which comprises our nurse, Joy Kabanda, on a motorbike with a rucksack full of medicine. She visits each school regularly, along with our health educators and a health worker who can do home visits if needed. We treat children for malaria, diarrhoea, respiratory infections, wounds, as well as eye and skin infections. More complex health issues, such as epilepsy, are referred to the appropriate health facility and often we are able to help fund this extra care and send a member of staff along to help out.

Giving just £10 today, means that we can treat five children suffering from the life threatening disease of malaria.
