Helping Hands cares for children in UgandaHelping Hands cares for disadvantaged children in the poorest rural communities of Uganda, helping them to see their value and begin to care for themselves and others. We do this through:
In the UK Helping Hands enables children and adults to begin to understand what life is like in these communities and to develop relationships with individuals, schools or churches in Uganda. Out of friendship comes the sort of help that adds dignity and value to the children and villagers and an amazing sense of privilege for those giving. What does this look like if you are one of the children?Well, you’d know that whenever you got sick Joy, the Helping Hands’ Nurse, would be willing to spend time with you and find out what is wrong. You’d even have a card with your name on it! She’d give you medicine and if it was really bad someone would be sent to talk to your parents. There would also be the interactive lessons with Janepher, learning about hand washing with those funny worm puppets and the jumping germ game. School is better as there are now more latrines and you can wash your hands now — and night time is safer under your very own net. The best thing of all is the "Christmas Dinner" they bring! You can help us care for one child for a whole year by simply giving £15 online now. See Giving to Children in Uganda. |
