Celebrate what we did together in 2009!

  • We treated children with common diseases on over 5500 occasions - 75% of the children recovered after one treatment.
  • Over 310 health education lessons were carried out – understanding of how to tackle malaria has improved by 75%.
  • 329 new nursery children received a mosquito net - on average 88% of the children are using their nets properly on a regular basis.
  • Over 2000 toothbrushes were distributed after the hygiene lessons. Around 300 school uniforms were given to children unable to afford their own.
  • A school was roofed and some of the more vulnerable children received help with their homes and education.
  • We successfully registered as a Community Based Organisation in Kamuli District, Uganda.
  • We visited Lingira Island and three new mainland schools in Jinja District with a view to extend our work. We are currently training a new member of staff for this purpose.
  • A volunteer from UK has begun to co-ordinate our building project which currently involves a staff house and a visitor base.
  • UK trips have included a staff retreat, a pilot trip for young people and a staff training trip.
